The complainant has requested information on induced seismicity from UK shale gas exploration and production. DESNZ confirmed that it held some of the requested information but was withholding it in reliance on EIR regulation 12(4)(e) – internal communications, regulation 12(5)(b) – course of justice, regulation 12(5)(e) – commercial confidentiality and regulation 12(3) – personal data. The Commissioner’s decision is that the withheld information is exempt from disclosure on the basis of regulation 12(4)(e). The Commissioner does not require further steps.
