University of Essex

The complainant requested information about a decision the University of Essex had made. The University of Essex (‘the University’) disclosed some information and withheld the remainder under sections 40(2), 41(1) and 42(1) of FOIA. These exemptions concern personal data, information provided in confidence and legal professional privilege respectively. The Commissioner’s decision is that the University is entitled to withhold information the complainant has requested under section 40(2) and 42(1) of FOIA.
