Summary

The invention related to a motor/generator which purported to provide an electrical output both to drive the arrangement and to provide surplus output. The HO upheld the examiners objection that the invention contravened the principle of conservation of energy and as such did not comply with section 1(1)(c) of the Patents Act 1977. The HO also held that the claim did not clearly distinguish the invention from documents cited on the search report.
