Summary
The applicants for revocation (a firm of patent agents) were awarded costs of £1000 on the comptroller’s standard scale in respect of the preliminary proceedings. The hearing officer did not accept the defendants’ contention that costs should be reduced on account of the applicants being “litigants in person”, and considered that irrespective of the position before the courts this concept had no relevance to proceedings before the comptroller.
