Summary
The application relates to a cable quantity totalizing device which calculates the optimum cable routing for cables used in installations such as chemical plants or power generation plants. It comprises a cable route search unit configured to search for potential cable routes with the shortest cable length and enables the user to display the search result as a 3-D model showing the optimum cable route together with the cable length calculation.
The Hearing Officer applied the Aerotel/Macrossan test and decided that the contribution made by the invention fell solely within excluded matter. The application was refused as being a combination of a mathematical method, a mental act and a program for a computer as such.
