Summary
The application is concerned with a graphical user interface (GUI) to access information about the condition of a building automation system (BAS). Building automation systems are typically used to manage the physical environment of a building for example to manage and control heating, lighting and security. The invention provides a summary page which includes information on the status of alarms which can be customized by the user to present the alarms limited to those areas that show the greatest variation between the observed condition and the specified setpoint.
The Hearing Officer applied the four part test set out in the Aerotel judgment and found the invention to be excluded as the presentation of information as such. Applying Gemstar, she considered the prioritising of an alarm list was effectively the rearrangement of information and thus did not provide the required technical contribution.
