Summary
The invention relates to a federated machine learning system comprising a host which processes training results from clients based on a threshold difference in the number of training rounds and the time taken to receive training results from clients. The hearing officer did not consider there to be a technical effect external to the system in light of Lantana, and no technical problem was solved. The hearing officer considered a contribution which was said to provide a more accurate model and better learning process, but concluded that this was no more than a better computer program. The application was therefore refused.
