Summary

The invention relates to a computer-based technique for allocating a sales force to intermediaries (e.g. dealers, retailers, distributors or wholesalers). It seeks to overcome problems inherent in conventional manual techniques of developing marketing strategies. Such problems include errors due to a failure to take account of changing scenarios, and a lack of an experienced workforce to conduct market research. The hearing officer agreed with the examiner that the invention was clearly excluded from patentability under section 1(2).
