The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council
Her Majesty, in pursuance of, Section 23 of the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act, 1949, and Section 6 of the Pests Act, 1954, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Prevention of Damage by Pests (Application to Shipping) (Amendment No. 2) Order, 1956, and shall come into operation on the 9th day of April, 1956.
(2) This Order shall not extend to Northern Ireland.
2. The Prevention of Damage by Pests (Application to Shipping) (Amendment) Order, 1956, is hereby revoked.
3. The Prevention of Damage by Pests (Application to Shipping) Order, 1951(1), shall be amended by the insertion, immediately after paragraph (2) of Article 3 thereof, of the following paragraph:-
"(3) For any inspection of a vessel made by an officer of a port health authority or port local authority in pursuance of an application for a certificate of the kind mentioned in sub-paragraph (b) (ii) of the last preceding paragraph the authority may make and recover from the owner or master of the vessel such of the following charges as may be appropriate, that is to say-

(b) if the vessel is over 300 tons net and not over 1,000 tons net | 1 0 0 |
(c) if the vessel is over 1,000 tons net | 2 0 0" |

This Order prescribes a fixed scale of charges which may be made by port health authorities and port local authorities for the inspection of a vessel with a view to the issue of rodent control certificates. The Prevention of Damage by Pests (Application to Shipping) (Amendment) Order, 1956, under which the scale of charges was such as might be prescribed from time to time, is revoked.
