In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 35(1) of the Immigration Act 1971, I hereby make the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Immigration Act 1971 (Commencement) Order 1972.
2. Except as otherwise provided by the Immigration Act 1971, Parts I to III of that Act shall come into force on 1st January 1973 and, accordingly, all the provisions thereof which have not previously come into force shall come into force on that date.

This Order provides that Parts I to III of the Immigration Act 1971 shall come into force on 1st January 1973, subject to the provisions of section 35(2) and (3) by virtue of which sections 25 and 28 are already in force to the extent there mentioned. The whole Act will thus be in force on 1st January 1973.
