The Secretary of State for Social Services in exercise of powers conferred on him by sections 7(3) and (5) and 11(2) of the National Health Service Reorganisation Act 1973 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following regulations:-
1.-(1) These regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (Family Practitioner Committees-Supply of Goods) Regulations 1974 and shall come into operation on the 1st April 1974.
(2) The rules for the construction of Acts of Parliament contained in the Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply for the purposes of the interpretation of these regulations as they apply for the purposes of the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
2. The goods, materials or other facilities specified in Column 1 of the Schedule hereto are hereby prescribed for the purpose of being supplied or made available pursuant to the provisions of the said section 11(2) to the persons providing the services therein specified.
3. Each Family Practitioner Committee shall on behalf of the Secretary of State and subject to any directions he may give, supply or make available the goods, materials or other facilities specified in the said Column 1 to the persons providing the services under Part IV of the National Health Service Act 1946 as are specified in respect thereof in Column 2 of the said Schedule.

These Regulations prescribe goods, materials or other facilities which the Secretary of State may supply or make available to persons providing services under Part IV of the National Health Service Act 1946 and requires Family Practitioner Committees to make those goods available to such persons as are prescribed.
