CRIMINAL JURISDICTION

In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 14(3) of the Criminal Jurisdiction Act 1975, I hereby make the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Jurisdiction Act 1975 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1975.
2.-(1) The provisions of the Criminal Jurisdiction Act 1975 mentioned in paragraph (2) below shall come into force on 21st August 1975.
(2) The provisions referred to in paragraph (1) above are the following provisions, that is to say-
(a)section 2 (hijacking of vehicles or ships), so far only as it has effect in relation to an act done in Northern Ireland; and
(b)paragraphs 1 and 2(2) and (3) of Schedule 2 (amendments of Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1973) and, so far only as it relates thereto, section 4(1).

This Order brings into force certain provisions of the Criminal Jurisdiction Act 1975 on 21st August 1975. The provisions are section 2, which makes it an offence to hijack a vehicle, ship or hovercraft, but only in its application to an act done in Northern Ireland and certain provisions of Schedule 2, which make additions to the list of "scheduled offences" in Schedule 4 to the Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1973.
