The Secretary of State for Transport in exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(1) of the Transport Act 1978, hereby makes the following order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Transport Act 1978 (Commencement No. 1) Order 1978.

This Order brings into force on 4th August 1978 the provisions of sections 15, 17, 18 and 21 of the Transport Act 1978 which relate to the National Freight Corporation.
