WATER, ENGLAND AND WALES

The Secretary of State for the Environment as respects England and the Secretary of State for Wales as respects Wales, in exercise of their powers under sections 3(2) and 9(2) of the Water Act 1983 and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following order:-
1. This order may be cited as the Water Act 1983 (Water Space Amenity Commission Appointed Day) Order 1983.
2. The day appointed for the purposes of section 3(2) of the Water Act 1983 (which provides for the determination of the functions of the Water Space Amenity Commission) shall be 1st October 1983.
3. The provisions of the Water Act 1983 which are specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this order and which relate to the subject matter specified in column 2 thereof shall come into force on 1st October 1983.

This Order appoints 1st October 1983 as the day on which the functions of the Water Space Amenity Commission shall determine, and as the day on which certain enactments relating to those functions shall be repealed.
