NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE, ENGLAND AND WALES SOCIAL SECURITY

In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 32(2) of the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983, and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I hereby make the following order:-
1.-(1) This order may be cited as the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983 (Commencement No. 3) Order 1984.
(2) In this order "the Act" means
2. The provisions of the Act specified in the first column of each Schedule to this order (which relate to the matters specified in the second column thereof) shall come into force on the day specified in the heading to that Schedule.

Section 30(1) of the Act so far as it relates to the following entries in Part I of Schedule 10:- The Family Income Supplements Act 1970. The Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1971. The Social Security Act 1975. The House of Commons Disqualification Act 1975. The Child Benefit Act 1975. The Supplementary Benefits Act 1976. The Social Security (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1977. The Social Security and Housing Benefits Act 1982. | Repeals. |
This order brings into force the following provisions of the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983, together with consequential repeals:-
(a) all the provisions in section 1 (joint financing of community services) and section 12 and Schedule 5 (organisation of the National Health Service) except those which were brought into force on 15th August 1983 by the
(b) all the provisions in section 25 and Schedule 8 (social security adjudications) except those which were brought into force on 5th July 1983 by the No. 1 Order and on 1st January 1984 by the Health and Social Services and Social Security Adjudications Act 1983 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1983 S.I. 1983/1862.
The provisions in (a) come into force on 1st April 1984. Those in (b) come into force on 23rd April 1984.
The remaining provisions of the Act which are not yet in force and for which Commencement Orders have still to be made are as follows: section 2 (financing of community services in Scotland); section 11 (registration of homes); sections 21 to 24 (recovery of charges for local authority accommodation); section 29 (minor and consequential amendments) so far as it relates to paragraphs 4, 6, 9, 11 to 14, 19, 26 and 27 of Schedule 9; and section 30(1) and Part I of Schedule 10 (repeals) as regards repeals connected with the outstanding provisions just described.
