Now, therefore, the Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 60(5) of that Act and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive (Exclusion of Bus Operating Powers) Order 1986 and shall come into operation on 26th October 1986.
2.-(1) On 4th November 1986 the Executive shall cease to have the power under section 10(1)(i) of the Transport Act 1968 (power to carry passengers by road).
(2) On 26th October 1988 the Executive shall cease to have the power under section 10(1)(viii) of that Act (power to let passenger vehicles on hire with or without trailers for the carriage of goods).

This Order provides that on 4th November 1986 the Merseyside Passenger Transport Executive is to cease to have the power under section 10(1)(i) of the Transport Act 1968 to carry passengers by road; and that on 26th October 1988 the Executive is to cease to have the power under section 10(1)(viii) of that Act to let passenger vehicles on hire with or without trailers for the carriage of goods.
