Whereas it appears to the Secretary of State for Transport that London City Airport is an airport at which there is a substantial amount of international passenger traffic;
1. This Order may be cited as the London City Airport Shops Order 1987 and shall come into force on 20th November 1987.
2. London City Airport is hereby designated for the purposes of section 1 of the Shops (Airports) Act 1962(3) as being an airport at which there appears to the Secretary of State to be a substantial amount of international passenger traffic.

Section 1 of the Shops (Airports) Act 1962, as amended by section 70 of the Airports Act 1986, exempts traders at airports designated for the purposes of the Act as being airports at which there appears to the Secretary of State to be a substantial amount of international passenger traffic from the provisions of Parts I and IV of the Shops Act 1950 (c. 28), which relate to hours of closing and Sunday trading. By this Order the Secretary of State designates London City Airport as such an airport.
Section 1 was amended by the Airports Act 1986 (c. 31), section 70.
