The (A19) East of Snaith-Sunderland Trunk Road (A19/A1290 Downhill Junction and Slip Roads) Order 1987

Coming into force

17th December 1987

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this order in exercise of powers conferred by section 10 of the Highways Act 1980(1) and now vested in him(2) and of all other enabling powers:

1.  The new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct along the routes described in the Schedule to this Order shall become trunk roads as from the date when this Order comes into force.

2.  The centre lines of the new trunk roads are indicated by heavy black lines on the deposited plan.

3.  In this Order-

(i) "the deposited plan"

means the plan numbered HA10/2-/209, marked "The (A19) East of Snaith-Sunderland Trunk Road (A19/A1290 Downhill Junction and Slip Roads) Order 1987", signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1 3PY;

(ii) "the new trunk roads"

means the highways mentioned in article 1 of this Order and "a new trunk road" means one of those highways; and

(iii) "the Trunk Road"

means the East of Snaith-Sunderland Trunk Road (Al9).

4.  This Order shall come into force on 17th December 1987 and may be cited as the (A19) East of Snaith-Sunderland Trunk Road (A19/A1290 Downhill Junction and Slip Roads) Order 1987.

SCHEDULEROUTES OF THE NEW TRUNK ROADS

1.  a route to connect a roundabout (to be constructed to the west of the Trunk Road, as part of an improvement to the A1290 Downhill Lane), with the northbound carriageway of the Trunk Road, the new trunk road on this route being given the reference number 1 on the deposited plan;

2.  a route to connect the southbound carriageway of the Trunk Road with a roundabout (to be constructed to the east of the Trunk Road, as part of an improvement to the A1290 Downhill Lane), the new trunk road on this route being given the reference number 2 on the deposited plan;

and

3.  a route to connect a roundabout (to be constructed to the east of the Trunk Road, as part of an improvement to the A1290 Downhill Lane), with the southbound carriageway of the Trunk Road, the new trunk road on this route being given the reference number 3 on the deposited plan.
