The Coypus (Keeping) (Revocation) Regulations 1987

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Secretary of State for Wales, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Destructive Imported Animals Act 1932(1) and now vested in them(2) and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Coypus (Keeping) (Revocation) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 1st January 1988.

Revocations

2. The Regulations specified in the Schedule to these Regulations are revoked.

In Witness whereof the Official Seal of the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is hereunto affixed on 18th December 1987.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations revoke the Coypus (Keeping) Regulations 1967, as amended. Those Regulations prescribed the manner in which coypus were to be kept in Great Britain and the precautions to be taken to prevent their escape. They also prescribed the form of licence to be granted to persons keeping coypus and the fee to be paid for such a licence.
