The Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act 1982 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1987

The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under section 38(2) of the Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act 1982(1) (hereinafter referred to as "the Act") and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:-

1.  This Order may be cited as the Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act 1982 (Commencement No. 4) Order 1987.

2.  The provisions of the Act specified in the Schedule hereto shall come into force on 1st February 1988.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings sections 22 and 23 of the Oil and Gas (Enterprise) Act 1982, which make provision for the application of the criminal and civil law of the United Kingdom in relation to certain offshore activities, into force on 1st February 1988. The Order also brings into force on the same day section 27(1)(a) of the Act (prosecution of offences to which section 22 applies) together with further provisions of Schedules 3 and 4.
