1.  This Order may be cited as the Local Elections (Principal Areas) (Welsh Forms) Order 1987 and shall come into force on 6th April 1987.

2.  Each of the forms set out in Part I of the Schedule to this Order is hereby prescribed as the Welsh version of the corresponding form specified in English at the head of the version, being a form set out in Schedule 2 to the Local Elections (Principal Areas) Rules 1986(2), which may be used in connection with the election of a county or district councillor in Wales.

3.  The form set out in Part II of the Schedule to this Order is hereby prescribed as the Welsh version which may be used by the chairman, vice-chairman or councillor of the council of a county or district in Wales, in place of the declaration of acceptance of office set out in Schedule 5 to the Local Elections (Principal Areas) Rules 1986.

4.  Each of the forms set out in Part III of the Schedule to this Order is hereby prescribed as the version partly in Welsh and partly in English which shall be used, in connection with the election of a county or district councillor in Wales, in place of the official poll cards or voting compartment notice set out in Schedule 2 to the Local Elections (Principal Areas) Rules 1986.

5.  The forms set out in the Schedule to this Order may be used with such modifications as circumstances require.

Article 2

PART IQUESTIONS TO BE PUT TO A PERSON APPLYING AS AN ELECTOR FOR A BALLOT PAPER

(i)"Ai chwi yw'r person a gofrestrwyd yn y gofrestr etholwyr llywodraeth leol ar gyfer yr etholiad hwn fel a ganlyn?" (ddarllenwch y cofnod llawn yn y gofrestr)

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

Parts I and II of the Schedule to this Order prescribe the Welsh version of certain forms to be used in connection with county and district elections in Wales. Part III of the Schedule prescribes forms partly in Welsh and partly in English which must be used for the purposes specified in Article 4 of this Order.
