The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 48(5) and 51(4) of the Gaming Act 1968((1)), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Gaming Act (Variation of Fees) (Scotland) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 1st March 1988.
(2) This Order shall extend to Scotland only.
2. Section 48(3)(h) of the Gaming Act 1968 (under which the fee to be charged for the grant or renewal of a permit under section 34 of that Act is £8.50) shall have effect with the substitution, for the sum referred to therein, of a reference to £25.
3. The Gaming Act (Variation of Fees) (Scotland) Order 1983((2)) is hereby revoked.

This Order, which extends to Scotland only, increases the fee to be charged under the Gaming Act 1968 for the grant or renewal of a permit under section 34 of that Act for premises where gaming machines are used.
