The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984((1)), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Secretary of State for the Home Department in accordance with section 7(6) of the said Act of 1984, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the A1400 Trunk Road (Woodford Avenue Service Road, Redbridge) (Prescribed Routes) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 5th September 1988.
2. In this Order:-
"Woodford Avenue" means that length of the South Woodford-Gants Hill Trunk Road (A1400) in the London Borough of Redbridge known as Woodford Avenue; and
"Woodford Avenue service road" means that length of trunk road which lies on the northern side of and parallel to the eastbound main carriageway of Woodford Avenue between numbers 20a and 48 Woodford Avenue, Gants Hill, Ilford known as Woodford Avenue service road.
3. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in Woodford Avenue service road in any direction other than from northwest to southeast.
4. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle proceeding in the eastbound main carriageway of Woodford Avenue to enter Woodford Avenue service road via the access opposite Numbers 22 and 22a Woodford Avenue.
5. Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a traffic warden, and to any vehicle being used for highway maintenance purposes.
