The Secretary of State, in exercise of his powers under section 1(1), (3) and (4) of the Industrial Development Act 1982(1), hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Assisted Areas (Amendment) Order 1988 and shall come into force on 21st March 1988.
2. The Assisted Areas Order 1984(2) shall be amended by inserting at the end of article 7(1) the following:
"save that on and after 21st March 1988 the reference to the travel to work area of Workington shall be a reference to that area as it existed on 8th October 1987".

This Order amends article 7(1) of the Assisted Areas Order 1984 so that as from 21st March 1988 the reference to the travel to work area of Workington in Schedule 1 to that Order shall be a reference to that area as it existed on 8th October 1987.
