1. The length of Trunk Road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road as from the date on which this Order comes into force.
2. In this Order:-
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) "the deposited plan" | means the plan numbered HA10 YHR016 marked "The (A18) Sheffield-Grimsby Trunk Road (Barnetby Top to Grimsby) (Detrunking) Order 1988" signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY; |
(ii) "principal road" | as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State; |
(iii) "the Trunk Road" | means the Sheffield-Grimsby Trunk Road (A18). |
3. This Order shall come into force on 1st April 1988 and may be cited as the (A18) Sheffield-Grimsby Trunk Road (Barnetby Top to Grimsby) (Detrunking) Order 1988

That length of the Trunk Road commencing at a point (marked "A' on the deposited plan) about 270 metres south of its junction with the M180 motorway, the A180 trunk road and the A15 Humber Bridge Northern Approach Road continuing for a distance of about 22 kilometres in a generally easterly direction and terminating at its junction (marked "B' on the deposited plan) with Little Coates Road (B1444) and Bradley Road (C417).
