This Statutory Instrument has been made in consequence of a defect in S.I. 1989/1009 and is being issued free of charge to all known recipients of that Statutory Instrument.

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 37(1), (2) and (4) and 38 to 43 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988(1), hereby makes the following Regulations:-
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Copyright (Copying by Librarians and Archivists) (Amendment) Regulations 1989 and shall come into force on 1st August 1989.
2. The Copyright (Copying by Librarians and Archivists) Regulations 1989(2) are amended by substituting for the words"Copyright (Educational Establishments) Order 1989", which appear in paragraph 4 of Part A of Schedule 1 thereto, the words"Copyright (Educational Establishments) (No. 2) Order 1989"(3).

These Regulations amend the Copyright (Copying by Librarians and Archivists) Regulations 1989 by substituting for the reference, in Part A of Schedule 1 thereto, to the Copyright (Educational Establishments) Order 1989 (S.I. 1989/1008) (which Order was defective) a reference to the Copyright (Educational Establishments) (No. 2) Order 1989 which revoked and replaced the earlier Order before it came into force.
