The Sandwell Borough Council (Holloway Bank Canal Bridge) Scheme 1988 Confirmation Instrument 1989

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Instrument in exercise of powers conferred by section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980(1), and now vested in him(2), and of all other enabling powers:

1. The Sandwell Borough Council (Holloway Bank Canal Bridge) Scheme 1988 is hereby confirmed without modifications.

2. The said Scheme as confirmed (hereinafter referred to as "the Scheme") is set out in the Schedule hereto and copies of the Scheme with its accompanying plans are deposited at the offices of the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London, SW1P 3PY, at the offices of the Borough Council of Sandwell, Town Hall, West Bromwich, Sandwell, West Midlands, B70 8DX and at the Department of Transport, West Midlands Regional Office, No.5 Broadway, Broad Street, Birmingham, B15 1BL.

3. The Scheme will come into force on the date on which notice that it has been confirmed is first published in accordance with paragraph 1 of Schedule 2 to the Highways Act 1980.

4. This Instrument may be cited as the Sandwell Borough Council (Holloway Bank Canal Bridge) Scheme 1988 Confirmation Instrument 1989.

THE SCHEDULESANDWELL BOROUGH COUNCIL (HOLLOWAY BANK CANAL BRIDGE) SCHEME 1988

The Borough Council of Sandwell (hereinafter referred to as "The Council") make this scheme in exercise of their powers under Section 106(3) of the Highways Act, 1980 and of all enabling powers:

1. The Council are authorised to construct the bridge to form the route of the highway the A41 over the navigable waters of the Tame Valley Canal at Holloway Bank in the Borough of Sandwell in the position and dimensions which are indicated in the Schedule and Plans annexed hereto.

2. The bridge will replace and be constructed adjacent to and to the north east of the existing bridge over the said canal.

3. This scheme may be cited as the Sandwell Borough Council (Holloway Bank Canal Bridge) Scheme 1988.

PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE PROPOSED HOLLOWAY BANK CANAL BRIDGE

Position:The bridge is located at the inter-section of the A41 with the Tame Valley Canal at Holloway Bank approximately 1 k.metre south of Wednesbury Town Centre in the Borough of Sandwell.
Dimensions:

Spans -� there is one clear span of 17.000 metres Waterway -� the minimum width of waterway under the bridge is 5.000 metres.

Minimum Head Room -� the minimum head room is 2.300 metres above British Waterways Board design level of 124.480 metres above Ordnance Datum.

Given under the Common Seal of the Borough Council of Sandwell the 30th day of September 1988.
