CHRONICALLY SICK AND DISABLED PERSONS

The Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1989

The Secretary of State for Health in exercise of powers conferred by section 18(2) of the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986(1)and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and extent

1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986 (Commencement No. 5) Order 1989.

(2) This Order shall not apply to Scotland. Day specified for the coming into force of section 11 of the Act 2. Section 11 of the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986 (Reports to Parliament) shall come into force on 18th December 1989.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order brings into force in England and Wales on 18th December 1989 section 11 of the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Act 1986, which imposes a duty on the Secretary of State to make annual reports to Parliament containing information relating to persons suffering from mental illness or mental handicap.(This note is not part of the Order)

The following provisions of the Act have been brought into force by Commencement Orders made before the date of this Order.
