25th February 1989
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 24(2) of the School Boards (Scotland) Act 1988( (1)) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the School Boards (Scotland) Act 1988 (Commencement) Order 1989.
2.-(1) The whole of the School Boards (Scotland) Act 1988 except paragraphs 1-5 and paragraph 7 of Schedule 4 shall come into force on 1st April 1989.
(2) Paragraphs 1-5 and paragraph 7 of Schedule 4 shall come into force on 1st November 1989.

This Order brings into force on 1st April 1989 the School Boards (Scotland) Act 1988 except paragraphs 1-5 and paragraph 7 of Schedule 4 which is brought into force on 1st November 1989.
