ROAD TRAFFIC

The A40 Trunk Road (Western Avenue, Hillingdon) (Prescribed Routes) Order 1990

The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984(1), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Secretary of State for the Home Department in accordance with section 7(6) of that Act, hereby makes the following Order:

1. This Order may be cited as the A40 Trunk Road (Western Avenue, Hillingdon) (Prescribed Routes) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 31st May 1990.

2. In this Order-

"Western Avenue" means that length of the London-Fishguard Trunk Road (A40) in the London Borough of Hillingdon known as Western Avenue;

"the roundabout" means the roundabout which connects Park Road with Swakeleys Road and comprises two bridges over Western Avenue;

"the eastbound exit slip road" means the road linking the eastbound carriageway of Western Avenue with the roundabout;

"the eastbound access slip road" means the road linking the roundabout with the eastbound carriageway of Western Avenue;

"the westbound exit slip road" means the road linking the westbound carriageway of Western Avenue with the roundabout; and

"the westbound access slip road" means the road linking the roundabout with the westbound carriageway of Western Avenue.

3. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in the eastbound exit slip road and in the eastbound access slip road in any direction other than from west to east.

4. No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to proceed in the westbound exit slip road and in the westbound access slip road in any direction other than from east to west.

5. Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a constable in uniform or of a traffic warden.
