Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Dartford-Thurrock Crossing Regulations 1989 in three ways. First, by increasing the charges to be made in respect of vehicles above a specified width or length which use the tunnels. (These charges are in addition to any tolls which may be levied.) Secondly, by increasing some (not all) of the minimum and additional charges which are used to calculate the fee payable under regulation 12 of the 1989 Regulations in respect of attendance at or removal of a vehicle which has broken down in the tunnels. Thirdly, by defining a "large break-down vehicle", a term used in Regulation 12(1) of the 1989 Regulations.

(1)

See definitions of "prescribed" and "regulations".
