The A422 Trunk Road (South of Alcester) De-Trunking Order 1991

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980(1), and now vested in him(2), and of all other enabling powers:

1. The length of trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the County Council of Warwickshire that the new trunk road is open for through traffic.

2. In this Order-�

(1) (i) "classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;

(ii)"the deposited plan" means the plan contained in the folio num bered HA10/2 WMRO LVI, marked "The A422 Trunk Road (South of Alcester) DeTrunking Order 1991" signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;

(iii)"the new trunk road" means the trunk road to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the A435 Trunk Road (Norton-�Lenchwick Bypass) Or der 1991; and

(iv)"the trunk road" means the Worcester to Lincoln Trunk Road (A422).

3. This Order shall come into force on 29th November 1991 and may be cited as the A422 Trunk Road (South of Alcester) De-Trunking Order 1991.

THE SCHEDULELENGTH OF TRUNK ROAD CEASING TO BE A TRUNK ROAD

The length of trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is that length of the trunk road which runs from a point 275 metres north of Arrow Church southwestwards to its junction with the A435 (Bath to Lincoln Trunk Road) at Arrow in the County of Warwickshire, a distance of approximately 0.38 kilometres measured along that length.
