1. This Order may be cited as the A13 Trunk Road (West of Heathway to Wennington Section, Detrunking) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 16th July 1992.
2. In this Order-
(i)"the new trunk roads" | has the meaning given in article 2(2)(ii) of the A13 Trunk Road (West of Heathway to Wennington Section, Trunk Road and Slip Roads) Order 1992(3); |
(ii)"principal road" | as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State; and |
(iii)"the trunk road" | means the A13 Trunk Road known as Ripple Road and New Road. |
3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Council of the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, the Council of the London Borough of Havering and the County Council of Essex that the new trunk roads are open for traffic.

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road, is about 7.43 kilometres in length. It is situated between a point on Ripple Road 115 metres west of its junction with Merrielands Crescent and a point on New Road 680 metres north-west of its junction with the centre line of Purfleet Road and is shown by broad black dashes on the plan numbered LRO 64/74/2/02, marked "The A13 Trunk Road (West of Heathway to Wennington Section, Detrunking) Order 1992", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY.
