1. This Order may be cited as the A13 Trunk Road (Wennington to Dartford Tunnel Interchange Section, Detrunking) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 16th July 1992.
2. In this Order-
(1) all measurements of distance are measured along the route of the relevant highway;
(2) (i) "principal road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State;
(ii)"the deposited plan"means the plan numbered HA10/2E/325 marked "The A13 Trunk Road (Wennington to Dartford Tunnel Interchange Section, Detrunking) Order 1992", signed by authority of the Secretary of State and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;
(iii)"the new trunk roads"means the trunk roads to be constructed by the Secretary of State in pursuance of the A13 Trunk Road (Wennington to Mar Dyke Section, Trunk Road and Slip Roads) Order 1992; and
(iv)"the Trunk Road"means the London-Tilbury Trunk Road (A13).
3. Those lengths of the Trunk Road described in the Schedule to this Order and shown by broad striped hatching on the deposited plan shall cease to be trunk road and shall be classified as a principal road as from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies Essex County Council that the new trunk roads are open for through traffic.

1. That length of Trunk Road, known as London Road and Arterial Road Purfleet, which extends from a point in the Borough of Thurrock in the County of Essex 480 metres northwest of the centre line of Purfleet Road at its junction with the Trunk Road (London Road) to the easternmost point of the roundabout at Junction 31 of the M25 motorway ( "the Tunnel roundabout") in the Borough of Thurrock in the County of Essex. Length of road 3·47 kilometres.
2. That length of Trunk Road comprised in the northbound connecting road between the Tunnel roundabout and the roundabout at Junction 30 of the M25 Motorway ( "the Junction 30 roundabout") for a distance of 450 metres northwards from its junction with the Tunnel roundabout.
3. That length of Trunk Road comprised in the southbound connecting road between the Junction 30 roundabout and the Tunnel roundabout, for a distance of 530 metres northwards from its junction with the Tunnel roundabout.
