The Secretary of State for Transport, after consultation with the persons referred to in section 22(2) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1979(1), in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 21(1)(a) and (b) and (3) of that Act and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:-�
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Navigational Warnings) (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 29th July 1992.
2.-(1) The Schedule to the Merchant Shipping (Navigational Warnings) Regulations 1980(2) shall be amended as follows.
(2) In each of paragraphs A(3), B(1) and D(1) for the words "Greenwich Mean Time "there shall be substituted the words "Universal Co-ordinated Time".

These Regulations further amend the Merchant Shipping (Navigational Warnings) Regulations 1980 by requiring that the time and date of meeting with the various dangers which those Regulations require to be reported be notified by the master in terms of Universal Co-ordinated Time instead of Greenwich Mean Time.
The Regulations give effect to amendments to the Safety of Life at Sea Convention 1974 (Chapter V, Regulation 3) adopted on 11th April 1989 by the Maritime Safety Committee ( "MSC") of the International Maritime Organization ( "IMO") at its 57th Session.
The MSC amendments to which the Regulations give effect are included in the Annex to Resolution MSC 13(57), copies of which may be obtained from IMO, 4 Albert Embankment, London SE1 7SR.
