The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretary of State being Ministers designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the Economic Community, acting jointly, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by the said section 2(2), hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Destructive Imported Animals Act 1932 (Amendment) Regulations 1992 and shall come into force on 20th January 1993.
2. The provisions of section 11 of the Destructive Imported Animals Act 1932(3) (interpretation) shall become subsection (1) of that section and the following subsection shall be added after that subsection-
"(2) Any reference in this Act to importation into Great Britain does not include a reference to importation from a member State.".

These Regulations amend the Destructive Imported Animals Act 1932 so as to remove from the scope of the Act importation of destructive animals from a member State (regulation 2).
The Regulations implement the United Kingdom's obligations under article 30 of the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community so far as it concerns the importation into Great Britain of destructive non-indigenous animals.
