Whereas the combined police authority constituted by the Dyfed-Powys Police Amalgamation Scheme 1973 (set out in the Appendix to the Dyfed-Powys Police (Amalgamation) Order 1973(1) has, under sections 21 and 22 of the Police Act 1964(2), submitted to me the Scheme set out in the Appendix to this Order for the amendment of the said Scheme of 1973:
Now, therefore, in exercise of the power conferred on me by the said sections, I, by this Order, approve the Scheme set out in the Appendix to this Order.
This Order may be cited as the Dyfed-Powys Police (Amalgamation) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1993.

1. This Scheme may be cited as the Dyfed-Powys Police Amalgamation (Amendment) (No. 2) Scheme 1993 and shall come into force on 1st June 1993.
2. For paragraph 3(3) of Schedule 2 to the Dyfed-Powys Police Amalgamation Scheme 1973 there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraph-
"(3) For the purposes of sub-paragraph (2) above the population of an area shall be that population as estimated by the Registrar General of Births, Deaths and Marriages as at 30th June in the year two years preceding the financial year in question.".

This Order contains the Secretary of State's approval to a Scheme, submitted to him under the Police Act 1964, further amending the Dyfed-Powys Police Amalgamation Scheme 1973 with effect from 1st June 1993.
It provides that the respective proportions of the expenses of the combined police authority which the constituent councils are to contribute are to be assessed by reference to populations two years before the relevant financial year, as estimated by the Registrar General.
