The A629/A650 Trunk Road (Kildwick to Crossflatts) (Detrunking) Order 1994

Coming into force

29th April 1994

The Secretary of State for Transport makes this Order in exercise of powers conferred by sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980(1), and now vested in him(2), and of all other enabling powers:-

1. This Order may be cited as the A629/A650 Trunk Road (Kildwick to Crossflatts) (Detrunking) Order 1994 and shall come into force on 29th April 1994.

2. In this Order-

(i)"classified road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is not a principal road for the purposes of enactments or instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads but is a classified road for the purpose of every enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State and which does not specifically refer to their classification as principal roads;

(ii)"principal road" as a classification for a highway, means that the highway is a principal road for the purposes of enactments and instruments which refer to highways classified as principal roads and is also classified for the purpose of every other enactment and instrument which refers to highways classified by the Secretary of State;

(iii)"the plan" means the plan numbered HA10/YHNMD 18 marked "The A629/A650 Trunk Road (Kildwick to Crossflatts) (Detrunking) Order 1994" signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Department of Transport, Romney House, 43 Marsham Street, London SW1P 3PY;

(iv)"the trunk road" means the A629/A650 Trunk Road.

3. The lengths of the trunk road described in Schedule 1 to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified in the manner described in Schedule 2 to this Order, as from the date on which this Order comes into force.

SCHEDULE 1

The lengths of trunk roads ceasing to be trunk roads are:

i.Skipton Road and Main Road Kildwick between the east side of the western junction with the new Aire Valley Trunk Road (marked A on the plan) and the northside of the roundabout south of Kildwick Bridge (marked B on the plan);

ii.Skipton Road from the south side of the roundabout south of Kildwick Bridge (marked C on the plan) to the west side of the roundabout at the west end of Hard Ings Road (marked F on the plan); and

iii.Bradford Road from the north east side of the roundabout at Victoria Park (marked G on the plan) to the west side of the roundabout at the junction with the link road to the Aire Valley Trunk Road at Crossflatts (marked H on the plan).

These lengths are shown by broad black dashes on the plan.

SCHEDULE 2

Classification of the lengths of Trunk Road described in Schedule 1 on ceasing to be trunk roads:

1. As a classified road:

(a)Skipton Road, from the south side of its junction with A6068 Keighley Road (marked D on the plan) to the west side of Beechcliffe Roundabout (marked E on the plan); and

(b)Bradford Road, from the north east side of the roundabout at Victoria Park (marked G on the plan) to the west side of the roundabout at the junction with the link road to the Aire Valley Trunk Road at Crossflatts (marked H on the plan).

2. As a principal road:

(a)Skipton Road, from the south side of the roundabout south of Kildwick Bridge (marked C on the plan) to the south side of its junction with A6068 Keighley Road Crosshills (marked D on the plan); and

(b)Hard Ings Road, from the west side of Beechcliffe Roundabout (marked E on the plan) to the west side of Hard Ings Roundabout (marked F on the plan).
