In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 93G(1) of the Criminal Justice Act 1988(1), I hereby make the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Criminal Justice Act 1988 (Crown Servants) Regulations 1994 and shall come into force on 1st August 1994.
2. In these Regulations-
"the 1988 Act" means the Criminal Justice Act 1988; and
"relevant financial business" has the meaning given by regulation 4 of the Money Laundering Regulations 1993(2).
3. Sections 93A, 93B, 93C(2) and 93D of the 1988 Act(3)shall apply to the following persons, namely-
(a)the Director of Savings; and
(b)any person employed by or otherwise engaged in the service of the Director of Savings,
in circumstances where the said Director or any such person is carrying on relevant financial business.

The Criminal Justice Act 1993 contains certain money laundering provisions. These provisions include amendments to the Criminal Justice Act 1988. These Regulations apply sections 93A, 93B, 93C(2) and 93D of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 to the Director of Savings and his staff.
1988 c. 33; section 93G was inserted by section 77 of, and Schedule 4 to, the Criminal Justice Act 1993 (c. 36).

Sections 93A, 93B, 93C(2) and 93D were inserted by sections 29(1), 30, 31 and 32 of the Criminal JusticeAct 1993. Section 93E of the Act, inserted by section 33 of the Criminal Justice Act 1993, and section 172 ofthe Act, as amended by Schedule 5 to the Criminal Justice Act 1993, deal with the application of the Act to Scotland.
