The Secretary of State for Social Security, with the approval of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 1 and 2 of the Personal Injuries (Emergency Provisions) Act 1939(1) and now vested in him(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Scheme:
1.-(1) This Scheme may be cited as the Personal Injuries (Civilians) Amendment (No. 2) Scheme 1994 and shall come into force on 3rd October 1994.
(2) In this Scheme, the expression "the principal Scheme" means the Personal Injuries (Civilians) Scheme 1983(3).
2. In article 27 of the principal Scheme (pensions to widows), after paragraph (2) there shall be added the following paragraph-
"(3) at the supplementary rate specified in paragraph 1(c) of the said Schedule in both the cases specified in paragraphs (1) and (2) of this article.".
3. After paragraph 1(b) of Schedule 4 to the principal Scheme (rates of pension and allowance payable in respect of death:widows) there shall be added the following paragraph-
"(c)under article 27(3) ... ... ... ...£48.70 per week".

(This note is not part of the Scheme)
This Scheme further amends the Personal Injuries (Civilians) Scheme 1983 which makes provision for the payment of pensions and allowances to or in respect of civilians who were killed or injured in the 1939-�45 war.
Article 2 of this Scheme provides for a supplementary pension to be awarded to widows in respect of their husbands death.
This Scheme does not impose any costs on business.
