The Secretary of State for Transport, after consultation with the constituent councils which appoint members of the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority and having regard to the number of local government electors in the areas of those councils respectively, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 29(2) and 103(1) of the Local Government Act 1985(1), and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:-
1. This Order may be cited as the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority (Increase in Number of Members) Order 1995 and shall come into force on 19th July 1995.
2. The number of members of the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority specified in the fourth column of Part II of Schedule 10 to the Local Government Act 1985 shall be altered from "2" to "3" in respect of Rochdale, from "3" to "4" in respect of Stockport and from "3" to "4" in respect of Wigan.

This Order alters the composition of the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority. From 19th July 1995, the number of members appointed by the Metropolitan District Councils of Rochdale, Stockport and Wigan is to be increased from 2 to 3 in the case of Rochdale and from 3 to 4 in the cases of Stockport and Wigan.
