SPORTING GROUNDS AND SPORTING EVENTS

The Sporting Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1995

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 68(1) of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 1980(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1995 and shall come into force on 1st December 1995.

2. Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 1985(2) is amended-

(a)by deleting from the list of sports grounds specified there the following names:-

and

(b)by inserting at the appropriate place in that list (which is in alphabetical order) the following name:-

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 1985 which designates certain sports grounds and classes of sporting event for the purposes of Part V of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 1980. As a result of the amendments Broomfield Park, Airdrie, Douglas Park, Hamilton, Kingsmills Park, Inverness and Meadowbank Stadium, Edinburgh cease to be designated sports grounds and Almondvale Stadium, Livingston becomes a designated sports ground.
