The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, being a Minister designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by that section, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
1. These Regulations may be cited as the Habitat (Former Set-Aside Land) (Amendment) Regulations 1996, shall come into force on 30th June 1996, and shall apply to England.
2. In regulation 7 (amount and payment of aid) of the Habitat (Former Set-Aside Land) Regulations 1994(3), for"£275" there shall be substituted "£290".

These Regulations amend the Habitat (Former Set-Aside Land) Regulations 1994 ("the principal Regulations") which implement in part Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2078/92 (OJ No. L215, 30.7.92, p.85) on agricultural production methods compatible with the requirements of the protection of the environment and the maintenance of the countryside. These Regulations amend the rate of payment of aid to beneficiaries who manage land in accordance with the management obligations in the principal Regulations. No Compliance Cost Assessment in relation to these Regulations has been prepared.
