1. This Order may be cited as the A47 Trunk Road (Hardwick Roundabout to North Runcton) (Detrunking) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 8th August 1996.
2. In this Order:
(a)"the new trunk roads" means the new highways which the Secretary of State proposes to construct referred to in article 2(2)(b) of the A47 Trunk Road (Hardwick Roundabout Flyover and Slip Roads) Order 1996(3);
(b)"the trunk road" means the A47 Trunk Road.
3. The length of the trunk road described in the Schedule to this Order shall cease to be a trunk road from the date on which the Secretary of State notifies the Norfolk County Council that the new trunk roads are open for traffic.

The length of the trunk road ceasing to be a trunk road is from a point 246 metres south east of the dismantled railway which crosses the trunk road to the south east of the Hardwick Roundabout to a point 486 metres south east of that railway, a distance of 240 metres and is shown by broad black dashes and given the reference letter "A" on the plan numbered HA10/2E/352, marked "The A47 Trunk Road (Hardwick Roundabout to North Runcton) (Detrunking) Order 1996", signed by authority of the Secretary of State for Transport and deposited at the Highways Agency, Room 12/03 St Christopher House, Southwark Street, London SE1 0TE.
