The Secretary of State for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 165A of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, having consulted the councils of the City of Manchester and the Metropolitan Borough of Trafford, hereby makes the following Order-
1. This Order may be cited as the Central Manchester Development Corporation (Transfer of Property, Rights and Liabilities) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 26th March 1996.
2. There are hereby transferred to the Secretary of State any property, rights and liabilities vested for the time being in the Central Manchester Development Corporation which have not been transferred under-
(a)an agreement made under section 165 of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980(2); or
(b)article 4 of the Central Manchester Development Corporation (Planning Functions) Order 1996(3).

This Order transfers to the Secretary of State any residual property, rights and liabilities of the Central Manchester Development Corporation. It is proposed that the Central Manchester Development Corporation will be dissolved on 1st July 1996.
