ENERGY CONSERVATION

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 2(2) of the Energy Conservation Act 1996(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Energy Conservation Act 1996 (Commencement No. 1) (Scotland) Order 1996.
2. The Energy Conservation Act 1996 shall come into force in Scotland on 1st December 1996.

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings the Energy Conservation Act 1996 ("the Act") into force in Scotland on 1st December 1996. The Act amends the Home Energy Conservation Act 1995 (c. 10), which is being brought into force in Scotland on the same date by virtue of S.I. 1996/2797. The Act has not yet been commenced in the rest of the United Kingdom.
