PROFESSIONS SUPPLEMENTARY TO MEDICINE

At the Council Chamber, Whitehall, the 11th day of September 1996
By the Lords of Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council
Whereas in pursuance of section 2(3) of the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act 1960(1) the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine has made the Registration (Amendment) Rules 1995:
And whereas such rules may not come into force until confirmed by order of the Privy Council:
Now, therefore, Their Lordships, having taken the said rules into consideration, are hereby pleased to confirm the same as set out in the Schedule to this Order.
This Order may be cited as the Professions Supplementary to Medicine (Registration Rules) (Amendment) Order of Council 1996.

The Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine, in exercise of its powers under section 2(3) of the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act 1960, and after consultation with all the Boards for the time being established under the said Act, hereby makes the following Rules:
1. These Rules may be cited as the Registration (Amendment) Rules 1995.
2. The Registration Rules 1962 (set out in the Schedule to the Professions Supplementary to Medicine (Registration Rules) Order of Council 1962(2) as amended(3)) shall be further amended as follows:
For the dates shown in column 3 of the Schedule there shall be substituted the following:
"30th April
30th June
31st July
31st August
31st October
30th November
28th February."
3. These Rules shall come into force when confirmed by order of the Privy Council.

The Rules confirmed by this Order further amend the Schedule to the Registration Rules 1962 set out in the Schedule to the Professions Supplementary to Medicine (Registration Rules) Order of Council 1962.
In the Registration Rules 1962, column 3 of the Schedule specifies a date in respect of the annual period of registration of, and payment of fees by, members of each of the professions to which the Professions Supplementary to Medicine Act 1960 relates. The Rules confirmed by this Order substitute, for each profession, a date approximately one month later than that previously specified.
