In exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 6(3) of the Offensive Weapons Act 1996(1), the Secretary of State hereby makes the following Order:
1.-(1) This Order may be cited as the Offensive Weapons Act 1996 (Commencement No. 2) Order 1996.
(2) This Order does not extend to Northern Ireland.
2. Section 6 of the Offensive Weapons Act 1996 shall come into force on 1st January 1997.

(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order brings into force on 1st January 1997 section 6 of the Offensive Weapons Act 1996 which makes it an offence to sell knives and certain articles with blades or points to persons under sixteen.
All of that Act is now in force.
