The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 18 of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995(1) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following order:
1. This Order may be cited as the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Amendment Order 1997 and shall come into force on 18th August 1997.
2. Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 1985(2) is amended-�
(a)by deleting from the list of sports grounds specified there the following name:-
Recreation Park, Peterhead
and
(b)by inserting at the appropriate place on that list (which is in alphabetical order) the following name:-
Balmoor Stadium, Peterhead.

This Order amends the Sports Grounds and Sporting Events (Designation) (Scotland) Order 1985 which designates certain sports grounds and classes of sporting event for the purposes of Part II of the Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995 (previously Part V of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 1980). As a result of the amendments Recreation Park, Peterhead ceases to be a designated sports ground and Balmoor Stadium, Peterhead becomes a designated sports ground.
