1. This Order may be cited as the Export of Goods (United Nations Sanctions) (Sierra Leone) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 15th October 1997.
2.-(1) The export to any destination in Sierra Leone is prohibited of any goods specified in the Schedule to this Order.
(2) Articles 3(a) and 4 to 8 of the Export of Goods (Control) Order 1994(3) shall apply as if the provisions of this Article were included in that Order and as if the goods the export of which is prohibited by this Article were specified in Part III of Schedule 1 to that Order.
3. In Schedule 3 to the said Order of 1994, "Sierra Leone" shall be inserted after "Rwanda".

Article 2(1)
Petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, crude
Petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, other than crude; preparations not elsewhere specified or included, containing by weight 70 per cent or more of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, these oils being the basic constituents of the preparations
Petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons
Petroleum jelly
Paraffin wax containing by weight less than 75 per cent of oil
"Slack wax", "scale wax"
Petroleum coke, petroleum bitumen and other residues of petroleum oils or of oils obtained from bitumen minerals
Bitumen and asphalt, natural; bituminous or oil shale and tar sands, asphaltites and asphaltic rocks
Bituminous mixture based on natural asphalt, on natural bitumen, on petroleum bitumen, on mineral tar or on mineral tar pitch (for example bituminous mastics, cut-backs)
Acyclic hydrocarbons
Cyclohexane
Benzene
Toluene
o-Xylene
m-Xylene
p-Xylene
Mixed xylene isomers
Styrene
Ethylbenzene
Cumene
Methanol (methyl alcohol)
Lubricating preparations (including cutting-oil preparations, bolt or nut release preparations, anti-rust or anti-corrosion preparations and mould release preparations based on lubricants) and preparations containing, as basic constitutents, 70 per cent or more by weight of petroleum oils, or oils obtained from bituminous minerals but not as the basic constituent
Additives for lubricating oils: containing petroleum oils, or oils obtained from bituminous minerals
Petroleum sulphonates, excluding petroleum sulphonates of alkali metals, of ammonium or of ethanolamines; thiophenated sulphonic acids of oils obtained from bituminous minerals, and their salts.
(This Note is not part of the Order)
This Order implements United Nations Security Council Resolution 1132 (1997) of 8th October 1997 in part by-
prohibiting the export to Sierra Leone without a licence of the petroleum and petroleum products listed in the Schedule, and
adding Sierra Leone to the list of countries to which arms in transit through the United Kingdom may not be exported without an export licence.
